International Students in Canada

After reading below, click here to start your eligibility assessment.

Most foreign nationals need a study permit and a temporary resident visa to study in Canada.

A study permit is a document issued by Canadian immigration that allows foreign nationals to study at designated educational institutions (DLIs) in Canada as international students.

A study permit is required to obtain a temporary visitor visa. If your study permit application is approved a temporary resident visa will automatically be issued to you, if you need one.

After graduation, international students may also qualify for a post-graduation work permit, which in many cases may also lead to eligibility for Canadian permanent residency programs.

There are other factors that determine your eligibility for this program. Start your eligibility assessment by clicking on the link above.
